Following a comprehensive playthrough, the speedrunner first posted a record time of 49 minutes and 29 seconds.

The run itself is an “Any%” run, which means Distortion2 aims to get from the beginning of the game to the end credits as quickly as possible without completing every single quest and task in the game, but what’s impressive is that his time has constantly been improving. The new world record comes from prolific Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2, who managed to finish the massively popular game in just 28 minutes and 59 seconds, managing what he believes to be the world’s first sub-30 minute completion of Elden Ring.
